Carrier Oils
~ Calia Carrier Oil family of products ~
Calia Carrier Oils are used in the blending of essential oils for use directly on the skin. As many essential oils are very powerful (see safety tips on the right). In most cases they should be diluted with a carrier oil. The various oils have different characteristics and viscosities (densities). See the descriptions below for the oil that best suits your needs.
Apricot Kernel
Apricot Kernel oil is very beneficial for sensitive, dehydrated or mature skin. It is very high in vitamin A and can be soothing for dry or inflamed skin.
Avocado Oil
Has outstanding regenerative and absorption properties. Also known for its healing, anti-wrinkle and antibacterial properties. High in Vitamin E.
Grapeseed
Grapeseed is one of the most easily absorbed carrier oils and is good for all skin types. Its slightly astringent quality makes it useful in toners blends, as it will help tighten the skin.
Jojoba
Jojoba oil has the composition closest to human skin. This is very beneficial for inflamed skin conditions, oily skin and scalp. It is excellent for facial and massage blends. Its antioxidant properties makes it a good additive to blend with other carrier oils.
Sweet Almond
Sweet Almond oil is great for all skin types. It is very lubricating and makes a good base for a massage oil and is beneficial for eczema treating blends.
Customize Calia Oils
Choose one of the Calia carrier oils listed above that is most beneficial for your skin condition. You may further enhance the benefits by adding a Calia essential oil or oils.
Refer to the recommended essential oils for specific skin conditions or try one of our recipes for a number of therapeutic uses. Add up to 50 drops per 100 ml of carrier oil and mix well.

Recipes For Blends
Eczema Body Oil
- 3 ounces Carrier Oil
- 4 drops Bergamot
- 6 drops Geranium
- 4 drops Lavender
- 3 drops Patchouli
• Gently blend oils together and apply when and where necessary.
Cold Sore
- 1 ounce Carrier Oil
- 4 drops Bergamot
- 4 drops Eucalyptus
- 3 drops Tea Tree
- 3 drops Lavender
• Apply frequently to affected area.
Important Safety Tips
- Avoid use of basil, cedarwood, thyme, marjoram if you are pregnant or lactating.
- If you have a serious medical condition, consult your physician before using essential oils.
- Anyone with epilepsy or high blood pressure should avoid sage, rosemary, thyme and fennel.
- Consult a qualified aroma therapist if you have any questions or concerns regarding usage of essential oils.
- Always dilute pure essential oils with a carrier oil or lotion when using on the skin. The exceptions are Lavender and Tea Tree oils. Patch test on the skin and wait 24 hours for results. If skin is irritated do not use.
- Dilute all recipes by half when using on children.
- Store your essential oils in dark glass bottles, away from heat and light to maintain purity and potency.
